VidDub ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, and safeguard your information when you use our AI video translation application.

            Key Points:
            Translation only: Your videos are used solely to provide the translation and dubbing services you request.
No secondary use: We do not collect, harvest, profile, or retain your videos for advertising, marketing datasets, analytics products, or AI/ML model training.
Original uploads: Removed from cloud storage when no longer needed for processing (typically within hours after processing completes).
Processed outputs: Translated and dubbed files are kept on cloud storage (OSS) for up to 24 hours, then automatically and permanently deleted.

        

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information:

Account Information: Email address when you sign in with Google
Video Content: Videos you upload to request translation and dubbing
Usage Data: App usage statistics, language preferences, and translation job metadata (not your video files)
Device Information: Device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers needed to run the app
Payment Information: Purchase records processed securely through Google Play (we do not store full payment card details)

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used only for the following purposes:

Process, translate, and dub the video content you upload
Manage your account, minute balance, and customer support
Process payments and maintain transaction records
Improve app reliability and security using aggregated, non-video analytics
Send important service-related notifications

We do not use your video content for any purpose other than delivering the service you requested. We do not sell your personal information or video content.

3. Video Retention & Expiry Periods

How long we keep video-related data:

Data type	Retention period
Original video uploads	Deleted from cloud storage when no longer needed for processing (typically within hours after the job completes). We do not keep source videos long-term.
Translated / dubbed output files	Stored on cloud object storage (Alibaba Cloud OSS) for up to 24 hours after processing, then automatically and permanently deleted.
Translation job metadata	Kept as account/service records where needed (e.g. job status, duration). Does not include your video files.
Account & billing records	Retained as long as necessary to manage your account, minute balance, and legal obligations. Does not include video files. See Terms of Service §4 for pay-per-use vs subscription rules.

4. No AI Training or Data Harvesting

Your content is not used to train AI:

We explicitly commit that your private videos, audio, subtitles, and related personal data will not be used to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or improve any artificial intelligence or machine learning models—whether ours or a third party's. Your content is processed solely to deliver translation and dubbing results to you, then deleted according to the retention periods above.

5. Legal Basis & GDPR (EU/EEA Users)

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, the following applies in addition to this Policy:

Data controller: Shenzhen Netsoft Information Technology Co., Ltd. (contact details in Section 11)
Legal bases (Art. 6 GDPR):
- Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)): processing your videos and account data to provide translation and dubbing services
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): where you explicitly agree (e.g. optional features or marketing, if offered)
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): fraud prevention, service security, and aggregated analytics, balanced against your rights
Your rights: access, rectification, erasure ("right to be forgotten"), restriction of processing, objection, data portability, and withdrawal of consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing)
Supervisory authority: You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we have processed your data unlawfully
Automated decisions: We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you

To exercise your rights, use Delete Account in Settings or contact us at szsoftwell2026@gmail.com. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law (typically within 30 days under GDPR).

6. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country, including outside the EEA (for example, cloud infrastructure in China used for video processing and storage). Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers in accordance with applicable data protection law.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information or video content. We may share data only in these circumstances:

Service Providers: Processors that help us operate the service (e.g. cloud hosting, speech/translation APIs, payment processing via Google Play), bound by contractual confidentiality and data-processing obligations
Legal Requirements: When required by applicable law, court order, or to protect our rights and users' safety
With Your Consent: When you explicitly authorize sharing

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
Secure cloud infrastructure with access controls
Regular security reviews
Authentication and least-privilege access for staff systems

9. Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for children under 16 in the EEA/UK, or under 13 elsewhere. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below these ages. If we discover such data has been collected, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email where appropriate. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
